WENGER BACKS WHITE TO BE A TOP SIGNING FOR ARSENAL

English Premier League clubs have been working on transfers since the opening of the summer transfer window and no one is wanting to be left behind, including Arsenal. The Gunners have often been criticized in the last couple of years for their inability to make beneficial player recruitment either because they refused to pay up the full transfer amount to sign them or splashing the cash on the wrong player. However, they seem to have shown a lot of seriousness this summer after completing the transfers of a number of players to their squad.

The North London club have signed 21-year-old left-back Nuno Tavares from Portuguese outfit Benfica for €8 million, 21-year-old midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga from Belgian giants RSC Anderlecht for €17.50 million, and Central defender Ben White from fellow Premier League club Brighton and Hove Albion for €58.50 million. Their transfer window is quite a decent one as they have focused on recruiting youth and players who will spend a lot of years at the club, instead of going for short-term options.

White is the most recent signing of them a and although he has such a hefty price tag on his head, he has been tipped by a number of former players to make a statement for himself at the Emirates Stadium. He already has a respectable amount of experience after representing England at the Euros this summer and the Gunners former manager Arsene Wenger has now also tipped him to shine at Arsenal.

Wenger says White is a top defender who, even though at such a young age, has a lot of qualities to become an Arsenal captain. Wenger says White has leadership qualities and has backed him to suppress any form of pressure on his shoulders and play his football for the club this season.
