Wengar Confident He Can Handle Pressure

Arsene Wenger has stated that he is confident that he will not allow the pressure to spoil what could be a fantastic day for Arsenal as they take on Hull city in the FA Cup final. This would be a great opportunity for Arsenal to end the nine-year wait for a trophy, but it is also giving a lot of pressure to the club. Arsenal have reached finals of competitions in previous years, but they have wilted under pressure. This time around, they go into the match as the clear favourites. Even Hull city manager Steve Bruce has said that Arsenal will be the overwhelming favourites for the win.

Wenger, though, is staying grounded ahead of the match, as he says that his players will be looking to give it all and not focused about ending the trophy drought. He says that it would be great to see the players give 100% commitment. Arsenal reached the final of the competition after beating the likes of Tottenham and holders Wigan Athletic along the way. For long periods of the semi-final against Wigan, they looked like going out of the tournament. However, a late goal from Per Mertesacker enabled them to take the game into penalties, where they won 4-2 against the Championship team.

"No matter what the result will be, this club - and this is always most important - can deal with the consequences of any game. What is important is that we come out of the game and have the feeling that we gave absolutely our best, our total energy to play at our best and then you always accept the consequences. No matter how much we talk about it, you can win and lose but you want to come out of the game feeling you have done the maximum to win and that is what we want to achieve,” said Wenger.
