REAL BETIS HOPE TO SIGN FORMER ARSENE WENGER FAVORITE BELLERUB FOR €4M

According to Estadio Deportivo, La Liga giants Real Betis are ready to pay €4 million to sign Hector Bellerin from Arsenal, which is considerably lower than the asking price set by the Gunners. The right-back reportedly only wants to join the Spanish club, despite plenty of interest from elsewhere. Hector Bellerin continues to be professional in his conduct by participating in Arsenal’s pre-season preparations. The Spanish defender is a big part of the Gunners’ squad, currently touring the USA, having played 45 minutes in their first game against Everton.

Even though the Premier League season kicks off in less than three weeks, Arsenal are yet to find a viable solution for many players in the squad who are deemed surplus to requirements. Bellerin is part of that list as there are plenty of clubs keen on signing the right-back. One of them are La Liga giants Real Betis, where Bellerin had a successful loan spell last season. The Spaniard helped the Andalusian club win the Copa Del Rey, although financial obligations set by the Gunners have proved difficult for the Verdiblancos to sign the Arsenal defender permanently.

Fellow La Liga club Villarreal are also interested, but Bellerin seems keen on re-joining Betis. And the Arsenal right-back’s decision could put Betis in a strong position when negotiating a transfer. They are already on the verge of spending decently on other targets but are somewhat financially restricted in this window.
Arsenal have set a €10 million price tag for Bellerin, who has only a year left on his deal. The Gunners believe their demands are modest at best and may not look to sell the player at a knocked-down price. The north Londoners could also take the interest of other clubs like Atletico Madrid and AS Roma into account, but Betis seem to have a plan.
