The recent drop of points of Arsenal have been when playing against Manchester United and Swansea City as they lost both matches against these teams and also had to settle with a 2-2 draw when facing off with Tottenham Hotspur.

West Brom appeared to take a different direction

West Brom appeared to take a different direction when they brought in Tony Pulis as the manager.

The club has been known for its beautiful and flowing football over the years. The new manager, however, was someone who was much more pragmatic in his attack. Even though Pulis has an impressive record as a manager after having not been relegated in his entire career, his style of football has not been enjoyable always. It was questioned whether the union was the right fit for both parties. Pulis has admitted that he had the same worries when he took over.

Arsene Wenger was able to put more smile on his face

Arsene Wenger was able to put more smile on his face after his team managed a quite convincing 2-1 win over title rivals Manchester City.

This victory cements Arsenal position as one of the title challengers this season. In previous years, the gunners have been criticised for losing the metal when it came to the big teams. Arsenal have suffered a couple of thrashing at the hands of City in the last decade. However, they significantly had the better of opportunities when the two teams met each other at the Emirates on Monday night.

Mauricio Pochettino believes that Tottenham’s new signing Son Heung-min has the potential

Mauricio Pochettino believes that Tottenham’s new signing Son Heung-min has the potential to be an important player for the club going forward.

After deciding to part company with both Roberto Soldado and Emmanuel Adebayor in the summer, the club needed to make some signings in the striking department in order to avoid an overreliance on striker Harry Kane. After an impressive campaign last time around, Kane has been struggling to keep up with his impressive goals to game ratio. In fact, he has not scored in six league appearances so far this season. This is a cause for concern for the club, but it seems that Son Heung-min has the potential to step up.

Arsenal’s poor form at the start of the campaign continued

Arsenal’s poor form at the start of the campaign continued after failing to get three points from the home game against Liverpool.

The club has taken only three points from the opening three games. Manager Arsene Wenger has described the club’s form has very average and this is likely to see the team makes some key signings before the end of the transfer window. The 0-0 draw with Liverpool can be considered lucky for the home team since the away team had a lot of chances especially in the first half. New signing Petr Cech was largely responsible for keeping out Liverpool.

José Mourinho has had a long-standing rivalry with Arsene

José Mourinho has had a long-standing rivalry with Arsene Wenger and this is seen no signs of simmering down in the last few years even after the departure of Mourinho to foreign leagues.

Ever since his return back to the Premier League, the Portuguese has been highly critical of Wenger and his inability to win trophies on a regular basis. He even termed the Frenchman as ‘a specialist in failure’ a few seasons ago. Now, though, there seems to be a change in stance after having seen Wenger lift back-to-back FA Cup titles. Mourinho now reckons that Wenger’s men will be a force to reckon with next season.

Arsenal have surprised many by getting into the second spot

Arsenal have surprised many by getting into the second spot with six games remaining in the campaign. They have been able to do this even while suffering a number of injury problems to keep players.

A major reason behind this push into the second spot has been the eight game winning run. The sequence started after the club had suffered a 2-1 defeat against arch rivals Tottenham. Back then, this defeat threatened to disrupt their top four ambitions once again. However, Arsenal have remarkably turned round and are now in a position to think about the title challenger as well.
