Arsenal’s poor form at the start of the campaign continued

Arsenal’s poor form at the start of the campaign continued after failing to get three points from the home game against Liverpool.

The club has taken only three points from the opening three games. Manager Arsene Wenger has described the club’s form has very average and this is likely to see the team makes some key signings before the end of the transfer window. The 0-0 draw with Liverpool can be considered lucky for the home team since the away team had a lot of chances especially in the first half. New signing Petr Cech was largely responsible for keeping out Liverpool.

The start looks was especially because of the opening day defeat against West Ham, which came against the run of play. Arsenal have not really been dominating games and were quite lucky to get the 2-1 win over Crystal Palace in the previous weekend. As a result of this poor form, the club are going into a crucial run of five matches that will see them play against the likes of Newcastle United, Stoke City, Chelsea, and Manchester United. All these teams have proved as their recent nemesis and it remains to be seen of Arsenal find a way around this time.

"We have started very average I must concede. Sharpness is missing a little bit in some players. Our game is still not fluent enough in the final third," said Wenger."Performance-wise, I was very happy with how we worked. First half in particular we created chances and should have been in front. Our performance level has grown over time. Our defensive organisation is good against big teams," said Brendan Rodgers after seeing his team maintain their unbeaten start to the season. The poor form of Arsenal is surprising considering that they had a very good pre-season.
