Arsene Wenger is reportedly furious with Barcelona for their tactics in trying to sign Fabregas. Fabregas, 23, has been at the centre of a tug of war between the sides, with the La Liga champions seeing a £29 million bid angrily rejected last month.

New Barca supremo Rosell had arrived in the country on Friday to speak to the Frenchman but was met with an angry response when they finally came face-to-face.

Rosell was told in no uncertain terms that Arsenal were prepared to sanction the sale of their star midfielder.
