Wenger believes Jamie Vardy will stay in Leicester City

As each transfer window passes by, Arsenal is one of the clubs that is consistently being linked with a number of players that they are attempting or interested to sign and this time around it has not been any different.

Leicester City’s Jamie Vardy is the player that was rumored on joining Arsenal during the summer transfer window but reports have been emerging claiming that the 29 year old English attacker is going to stay with Leicester City at least for another season.

When Arsene Wenger was asked about the possibility of signing Jamie Vardy, the French coach replied by saying: "No, no. Jamie Vardy is at the moment at Leicester, and on what I know he will stay at Leicester,"

If rumors are to be believed, Arsenal was willing to activate the release clause of Jamie Vardy and splash out £22 million in order to secure the services of the English player but Vardy is expected to have the final say and he will be making his decision following the end of the 2016 Euro’s.

Jamie Vardy scored 24 goals in 38 appearances for Leicester City during the 2015-16 Premier League season as he finished as the 2nd joint top goal-scorer of the top tier English League along with Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero who also scored 24 goals in that season.

There is no doubt whatsoever that Jamie Vardy was one of the breakthrough stars of the Premier League in the previous season and as a last ditch effort to keep him at the King Power Stadium, Leicester City offered him an improved contract where he would be earning £80,000 per week in wages.

After everything is said and done, it’s Jamie Vardy that has to decide whether to leave Leicester City or join another club as there are many other clubs that have shown interest in signing him.

If Jamie Vardy does decide to remain with Leicester City, Arsene Wenger is being linked with a move to Everton’s Romelu Lukaku.
